New Study Shows Hillary Clinton’s Face Makes Women More Confident

In the study individual men and women were asked to give a speech in front of a panel of six strangers. For some there was a picture of Bill Clinton on the back wall and for others there was a picture of Hillary. Overall the men spoke longer and were judged as better speakers than the women, except for the group of ladies who spoke while looking into Hillary’s baby blues. That group blew the men out of the water as far as the length of their speeches and overall confidence and success in conveying their ideas publicly.

The conclusion researchers drew from this study was that when women are exposed to powerful female role models in leadership positions they gained instant boosts in confidence and the ability to achieve at high levels. ”Female political role models can inspire women and help them cope with stressful situations that they encounter in their careers, such as public speaking,” the authors of the study wrote. ”A lack of female powerful role models leads to a vicious circle, because if women fail to take leadership positions, they also fail to provide role models for junior women to follow.”

Members of Congress are living off food stamps for a week to protest Republican cuts. It’s a challenge for them, but GOP cuts would hurt millions of everyday Americans.

Why does this not have more publicity. This needs it!

Signal boosting this A) because it deserves to be seen by more people, and b) because I appreciate some members of Congress are actually willing to see what it’s like living on food stamps in order to make their point about how horrifying cutting food stamps would be.

News flash, regressives: people on food stamps do not load up on Snickers bars and filet mignon. They’re limited in what they can buy, and oftentimes, it’s not enough to get by on. Go on thinking these are entitlements that let minorities live lives of luxury, comfortable in the knowledge that you’ll never go hungry.

You privileged, elitist pricks.

I work at a grocery store. Not only are people limited with what they can buy with EBT etc, but if they’re on something like WIC, they can only get EXACTLY what’s on their paper. If they have kids who are picky eaters, they’re shit out of luck and if they’re buying something not on the paper for said kid, they have to pay out of pocket. I don’t know if there’s exceptions for if they or their children have food allergies, but I’m going to assume there isn’t. Not only that, but ringing up WIC items takes forever, so customers behind them get angry and start yelling to speed it up or whatever.

Any snake, really, From huge Boa Constrictors, to venomous snakes in captivity, to tiny little ringnecks and garter snakes. You can tell a lot about their personalities. I have four little corn snakes, regular old colubrids, and every single one is different. The one shown above in the feeding container with a huge, fat, tummy, is Nyx. She’s an angel. She’s gentle and sort of lazy, she has a typical shorter length body. She literally comes out and tries to get to people who come near her tank. I know she doesn’t understand words, but I pretend she does, since she loves to come out when people are talking. She’s docile and likes handling, truly. It’s bizarre. She’s weird and not very snake-like. But she likes to hunt. She likes to track the mouse with her nose and strike from above, like it was fun for her.

Phaedra, she’s meek and shy, and long and more slender. She’s got some nice hets that give her rosy cheeks and a pink sheen. She wouldn’t make it a day in the wild. She opens her mouth and like, waits for you to put the mouse near it. She’s a spaz.

Diablo is my scaredy snake. He acts mean, but he’s not. He hides in your hands and occasionally likes to slither around cautiously, but since I feed F/T and practice slitting the mice, he smells the blood and immediately goes into bb viper mode.

I cannot tell you how cute it is to watch a harmless garden variety snake pretend to be a cobra. Anyway, he usually strikes and constricts in the blink of an eye. We have fun during feeding time because it helps him not be afraid, he gets fed, and i get to watch him feel good for a while.

Helix is just a dick. I cannot get pictures of him. He’s generations captive bred, but you wouldn’t know it. I have caught baby snakes in the woods with more manners than him. He bites anything, the mouse, then you, then your face, then your wrist while you try to shoo him back into his tank. People laugh, but y’all don’t even know.

I’ve held chondropythons with a higher tolerance for other living things than Helix. And they can actually hurt you. Helix is a flawlessly gorgeous worm, essentially. He’s my daredevil.

I’m a Christian, and even I can recognize how ridiculous it is for people to oppose gay marriage based on the grounds that “The Bible defines marriage as one man and one woman.” That’s simply not true.

If these are barbaric and no longer acceptable practices, then I think we can say that prejudice against queer people is also barbaric and no longer acceptable.
